Lenovo is set to launch an entry-level Android 4.4 KitKat-based 3G smartphone dubbed the Lenovo A1900 for as low as $42 (approximately Rs. 2,600).
The Lenovo A1900 smartphone has not yet been announced by the company, but it has been listed by a bulk supplier at Alibaba in China suggesting that the price varies from $42 to $52 (approximately Rs. 2,600 to Rs. 3,200).
According to the retailer listing, the Lenovo A1900 is a dual-SIM (Regular + Micro-SIM) smartphone which runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS out-of-the-box. It features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 SC7730 processor coupled with a Mali-400 GPU and 512MB of RAM.
The Lenovo A1900 is listed to feature 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 16GB). It sports a 2-megapixel rear camera without LED flash, and no front-facing camera.
On the connectivity front, the Lenovo A1900 includes 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, FM radio, and Bluetooth options. The handset packs a 1500mAh battery, measures 121x62x9.5mm, and weighs 117 grams.
Earlier this week, Lenovo launched the A7000 smartphone in India at a price of Rs. 8,999. Initially unveiled at MWC 2015, the Lenovo A7000 was then given an MSRP of $169 (roughly Rs. 10,400).
The A7000 is the successor to the company's popular 4G/ LTE budget offering, the Lenovo A6000 (Review | Images), and features upgraded specifications as well as a larger display - pegging it as a multimedia device.
